SCA: 87.50/100*
The story:
Our partners at Spojka went back to Kirinyaga, Kenya, for this one. Hakuna Matata comes from smallholder farmers of the Rungeto Farmer's Cooperative, washed at the Kiangoi Factory. The classic SL28 and SL34 varieties do the heavy lifting here, grown on volcanic soil that gives Kirinyaga its reputation. An 87.50 score puts it firmly in the top tier of what this region produces.
The taste:
Juicy blueberries lead, backed by black tea structure and a wash of honey sweetness underneath. The body is creamy rather than sharp, rounding out what could otherwise be an aggressive Kenyan acidity. It's Kirinyaga with the volume turned down just enough to drink easily.
The feeling:
Brew it through a V60 to let that blueberry note ring out clean. It's a bright, focused cup for people who like their Kenyan coffee juicy but not overwhelming, the kind you reach for on a slow weekend morning.
Note: Every Spojka bag is hand-decorated, making your pack a one-of-a-kind original that might look a little (or a lot) different from the photo.
