The story:
This Guatemalan lot comes from a family farm near Jacaltenango in Huehuetenango, run by Manuela and her relatives on just under a hectare. Her son Trinidad emigrated and sent home the money that bought the land, and the family then saved for seedlings. Planting took three years. Grown at 1850 MASL under chalum trees, Caturra, fully washed.

The taste:
Soft and buttery, this cup opens with a sweet, nutty hit of macadamia and praline, then finishes with a lightly acidic cranberry snap. Acidity sits in the middle, sweetness is high and the body stays medium and smooth. It is a delicate, polite cup that rewards a quiet morning. Think cookie jar meets berry bowl.

The feeling:
Made for the V60. Try 18 g of coffee, 300 g of water at 95°C, poured in five stages over about 3:30, and you get a rounded, sweet cup. Shorten it to 3 minutes if you want more acidity. The AeroPress also works well and keeps that buttery body intact. A gentle, nutty filter coffee for slow mornings.
