The story:
Our partners at Tanat picked this lot out of Huila, Colombia, where the Pink Bourbon variety grows between 1500 and 2100 MASL. The cherries were washed before drying, locking in a cleaner, more precise cup, and the lot scored well enough with the SCA to earn a spot as one of Tanat's core omniroasts, built to hold its shape across brew methods.

The taste:
Rich blackcurrant opens the cup and stays right through the middle, backed by toasted almonds for some nutty weight and rounded off with a soft black tea finish. Sweetness and acidity sit in close balance here, so nothing pushes too hard, and the whole cup reads as layered instead of sharp. It is a coffee built for repeat sipping, not a one-note hit.

The feeling:
Brew it in a Chemex for a bright, clean filter cup, or pull it as an espresso shot when you want something denser and more concentrated. Either route lands you on the same blackcurrant core, just dialed to a different intensity. Both keep the almond and black tea layers intact.

About the roastery

Tanat is a specialty coffee roastery from Paris, and its founder can back up the hype: Alexis Gagnaire is a former competitive barista who's podiumed at both the AeroPress Championship and the French Coffee Roasting Championship. The team travels to origin themselves, buying directly from farms and cooperatives they've known for years, and every batch gets roasted with the same care you'd expect from an atelier. No shortcuts, no pods, just clean, terroir-driven coffee.
