The story:
High in Kenya's Kirinyaga hills, in the tea country around Ngariama, our partners at La Cabra went back to a favorite station. Kiangoi is run by the Rungeto Farmer's Cooperative, the same group behind two of their other go-to lots. Most farmers here still grow old-school SL28 and SL34, planted before hybrid varietals took over. The cherries are washed and dried slow at 1800m, letting the volcanic soil speak for itself.

The taste:
This is a textbook washed Kenyan, sharpened. Redcurrant hits first, crisp and juicy, backed by a floral hibiscus lift that keeps things bright instead of sour. The acidity is lively without turning sharp, and the cup stays clean straight through the finish. Classic Kirinyaga character, dialed all the way up.

The feeling:
Grab a V60 for this one. Its clarity and snap are built for pour-over, where every layer of fruit gets room to show. It's a morning coffee for people who like their cup to wake them up twice, once with the aroma, once with that first sharp, juicy sip.
