The story:
The Gotiti washing station in Gedeb only opened in 2022, yet it already pulls cherry from 868 smallholder farmers working small home gardens at 2100 MASL. This lot is the local 74110 variety, hand-picked and washed with a full day of fermentation before drying. Our partners at Heresy scored it 87.5 points, calling it a genuine benchmark for what washed Ethiopia can be.

The taste:
Expect layers of flowers and stone fruit right away, with citrus and blueberry running underneath through a long, elegant finish. The washed process keeps it crisp and clear rather than heavy, closer to a fine tea than a syrupy filter coffee. Sweetness stays high throughout, holding the whole cup together without ever tipping into sharpness.

The feeling:
A V60 is the natural home for this one, letting every floral and fruit layer come through clean. Save it for a slow, unhurried morning where you actually want to pay attention to what is in the cup, rather than rushing it down before work. This is a coffee worth sitting with, especially since fresh Ethiopian harvests like this only show up once a year.

About the roastery

Heresy is a turbo nano roastery out of Poland, and they've got opinions. Since 2021 they've only roasted microlots scoring 86 points or higher, because life's too short for boring coffee. Founding roaster Piotr Jeżewski is a Q Grader trained by a World Champion, and the rest of the crew has judged national championships and run PR for some of Poland's biggest coffee names. No fussy tasting wheels, no gatekeeping, just small batches in brown jars they'd actually want to drink themselves.
