The story:
Nomad Coffee saves the Competición label for the lots that genuinely deserve the fuss, and this one earns it. It comes off the Timbuyacu farm in Rodríguez de Mendoza, deep in the cloud forests of northern Peru, where Geisha trees sit at 1620 MASL. Classic washed processing, tiny volume, and once these bags are gone that is the end of the season.

The taste:
Barely feels like coffee at first. It opens like a cup of white tea, then a strange tropical sweetness creeps in, somewhere between mangosteen and lychee. Elderflower hangs on the finish long after you have put the cup down. Acidity stays soft, the body is silky, and the whole thing is more perfume than punch.

The feeling:
Give it a Chemex and a coarse grind. The thick paper filter strips out anything muddy and lets those floral notes sit right at the front where they belong. This is a sit-down-and-pay-attention coffee, not something you drink walking to the bus.
